Delaware Valley.org, Inc. is a non-profit corporation, filing for 501 (c) 3 tax exemption status. Founded in 1999 by DCANet and Keith Duncan, Ph.D., CEO and President of DCANet in response to the closing of the Philadelphia-based community service network, LibertyNet and the perceived need to continue the work and mission that LibertyNet had started, and further to develop a skilled, technical organization that could address the social impact of technological developments on regional communities.

The mission of Delaware Valley.org is provide Internet technology transfer to communities and organizations throughout the Delaware Valley, focusing, in particular, on those organizations and communities less likely to have exposure and access to these new technologies. A fundamental belief that Delaware Valley.org supports is that all citizens of the Delaware Valley should have equal access to Internet technologies and Internet opportunities.

Delaware Valley.org launched its community service information portal in May of 2001. This portal is designed to provide information about community-related activities throughout the Delaware Valley.

Delaware Valley.org is committed to working with ISPs, CLECs, ILECs, and other technology companies to provide services to organizations and community service groups. The purpose of these partnerships is to facilitate providing opportunities for Internet access and in bridging the Digital Divide.
